THE BUDD CARS ARE NOW RUNNING

I have run the Budds as a set!!! The first run took place in January 2005 and while decalling needs to be done as well as touch up painting ( NOT one of my favourite tasks) they are close to being fiunished! I had a lot of trouble with reassembling the Athearn Windows as well as controlling the air brush flow and resorted to hand brushing the stripe and end. Any more solvent and I would have dissolved the Railcars!

The First Run

The set is shown here leaving one of the intermediate stations ( you pick which one!) The numbers have not been put in but are considered to be 6326 and 6112 at this point!

The Trailing View of the Budds - “somewhere” on the main line

The View of the Budd Car end.... It needs the CN Decaling but otherwise is OK!

As it was I had bought a Lifelike Budd from Canada. My modified Athearn Cars actually have the better cab window views as a match of the prototype and look much better on my curves. Actually the Lifelike is not as good as I thought it should be but that again may be a fault due to my sharper curves!

I will try it out on the Club layout when I get the chance!
